The Community for Diversity is dedicated to making Natural Resources a welcoming profession for all populations. We work to successfully align student interests and academic programs with the needs of industry and communities to better serve a diverse world.

The College of Natural Resources has partnered with other institutions for recruiting students, building program capacity, and establishing agreements that support ongoing relationships that improve both organizations. Partners include natural resource related departments at the following institutions: Tuskegee University, North Carolina A & T State University, St. Augustine's College, North Carolina Central University, Shaw University, and North Carolina State University.

This Community for Diversity was born January 13, 2004 in the College of Natural Resources at North Carolina State University from our intention to make our College of Natural Resources a model for diversity in our field.

We strive to recruit and retain a more diverse class of students, collaborate with faculty on diversity issues, while facilitating programs that highlight the challenges and opportunities of diversity within the field of Natural Resources.

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to promoting scholarly excellence and making our college a statewide, regional, and country-wide program, accessible to a growing population. The College of Natural Resources believes that a collaborative effort is the only method of identifying solutions to global environmental questions.

So join the Community for Diversity on this professional journey by contributing your skills and ambition to this growing field.
