International Forest Products Trade and Investment
The School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences at Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama is seeking
applications for the position Post-Doctoral Fellow in International Forest Products Trade and
Investment. This is a two year limited term, non-tenure track, position and is funded from external
sources. Continued employment is contingent on availability of funding and satisfactory
performance for a maximum period of two years.
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualification is a PhD from an accredited institution in the
area of forest economics, forest products marketing, economics, agricultural economics,
international trade, regional sciences, or a closely related field. Solid training in microeconomic
theory and econometrics are required. A background in forestry, forest products manufacturing,
and/or international business is desirable. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral,
are required. Candidate must have quantitative and analytical skills. The selected candidate must
have demonstrated the ability to conduct research with a high level of independence. The
candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States
by the date appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term
of the appointment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will do research on forest products trade and
investment locational choices by forestry and forest products firms. Research topics include, but
not limited to: the impact of trade agreements, trade barriers, trade promotions on exports and
imports of forest products; industrial investment locational choice, timber and forest products
supply and demand; and forest-based economic development. Salary is commensurate with
training and experience.
