Master of Science in Natural Resources

This Master of Science in Natural Resources degree program allows graduate students to pursue advanced topics within a specific area of natural resources, ranging from basic scientific inquiry to broader, management-oriented challenges. It requires you to successfully complete and defend a thesis. You must also select a technical option as your minor.

Students pursuing a Master of Science in Natural Resources degree (MS-NR) have explored a variety of advanced scientific problems involving natural resources, including highly-focused inquiry into basic cellular questions and broader inquiries into natural resource factors affecting plant and animal species, specific environments, entire ecosystems and the planet.

MS-NR degrees are available in a number of technical options, ranging from the ecology and restoration of forested ecosystems to environmental impact analysis, natural resource policy, international resources, remote sensing and geographic information systems, biometrics, bioremediation, biotechnology, hydrology, international programs, landscape ecology, restoration ecology, wetlands restoration ecology and more.

Declaring A Minor

Students in the Master of Science in Natural Resources program do not need to declare a minor.
