FER’s supports a diversified undergraduate and graduate curriculum in natural resources economics and policy. These degree programs give students an education balanced between the social and natural sciences while instilling a strong ethical foundation. They also acknowledge that good practitioners in this field are able to work effectively with both theoretical ideas and practical applications.

FER currently offers the following degree programs related to natural resources economics and policy:

Our undergraduate program includes an undergraduate degree option in Natural Resources Policy & Administration, with a focus on developing policy and management approaches that support the sustainable use of natural resources. This program provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to oversee or manage natural resources programs within a variety of settings, with an emphasis on serving public agencies.

Our graduate level program includes a Masters of Natural Resources Policy & Administration, a Masters of Forest Policy and Administration and a Masters of Forest Economics & Management. A PhD program is offered in Forestry with a focus on forest economics or forest resource policy. A joint degree program offered in conjunction with the School of Public and International Affairs offers the opportunity to obtain a dual masters degree in Public Administration and Natural Resources.
