The Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources (FER) is proud to fulfill NC State’s land grant institution mandate by providing landowners and other members of the general public with up-to-date information on how to manage and protect forestry and other natural resources.

The Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at NC State serves as an international center for research and activities into the development, management and protection of forestry land, wildlife and all other natural resources. Our activities involve academic experts, students, industry partners, non-profit leaders and many ordinary citizens all working in partnership.
