Student Organizations

PGM Ambassadors - All true freshmen take on the role as official PGM Ambassadors serving as liaisons to prospective students and assisting faculty and staff with special events and programs including the annual PGM Job Fair and recruiting activities. Duties include written and verbal communication, attending meetings and playing golf with prospective students during visits, and allowing prospecitve students to shadow them in classes.

2008 - 09 PGM Ambassadors

PGM Big Brothers & Big Sisters - Many sophomores, juniors, and seniors serve as big brothers and sisters to the first year students. These students are the "go to" people for first years when they have questions regarding academics, as well as campus life, activities, and questions such as "where do I do my laundry?"

PGM Club - The Professional Golf Management Club was created to promote the general welfare of PGM Students by providing opportunities for career enhancement, academic assistance, social programs, and promoting the NCSU PGM program. Student representatives plan golf tournaments, social outings, community service events, and fund raisers.

Professional Growth & Development - Student networking with golf industry professionals is important and the NC State PGM program schedules PGD meetings three (3) times per semester in order for students to make contact with these professionals. Topics range from teaching, working for an association (i.e. Carolinas Golf Association), being an equipment sales representative, learning calligraphy, golf fitness, mental prepartion for the PAT and much more.

"I love being a PGM Ambassador because we get to reach prospective students who might not know about NCSU and our PGM program. These students will have a friend and feel like they know someone when they get here. Also, I learn something new about our program every time we have a meeting. This is a great leadership experience to be a part of."
