3. Do PGM faculty and staff help me find places to do my internships?
Yes. We have two notebooks with approved agency applications in which you may look. We also encourage you to take responsibility and conduct some research to come up with ideas of places you may want to work. The PGM Internship Coordinator, and other PGM faculty and staff members, will work with you to secure your position. > > back to top

4. Are the internships paid positions?
Yes, but wage amounts vary according to the facility and extra benefits in which the facility provides. For example, a facility may pay $10/hr. and offer one meal/shift,
but not offer housing or staff clothing. Another facility may pay $8/hr., offer housing for a small monthly fee, provide staff clothing and one meal/shift. > > back to top

5. Is housing provided for the internships?
Sometimes. Some places have housing for student interns for a small monthly fee. Others may not have housing onsite, but may work with facility members to provide housing. Facilities that do not offer housing usually work with students to assist in finding housing during their work experience. Students are usually housed together when more than one intern is working at a facility in order to reduce expenses. > > back to top

6. Am I still a full-time student when I am working my internship?
Yes. Students enroll in the cooperative education program for COP 100, COP 200 or COP 300 and pay a fee of $330. > > back to top

7. Do all PGM students live together in the same residence hall?
The NC State PGM program has worked with University Housing to offer PGM students housing in the same residence hall (Avent Ferry Residence Hall) if  students desire. The PGM faculty / staff do not require students to live in the same hall. Students may live in AF but not room with a PGM student. Students wishing to bring a vehicle to campus are encouraged to live in AF due to parking availability.  > > back to top

8. Can I have a car on campus?
At this time all PGM students may apply for a parking permit. Due to the nature of the program and students needing to travel to various golf courses in the area for play, practice, player development and service learning activities, University Transportation will grant parking permits to all students who bring a vehicle to campus. Parking permits may not be issued to areas directly near residence halls. Only students residing in Avent Ferry Residence Hall will have close access to his / her vehicle. Other permits may be granted for parking lots on the outer fringes of campus.  NC State University is mainly a pedestrian campus and parking permits issued for these areas is common. > > back to top
