| Wade Named New PGM Director 06-05-07 Dr. Robb Wade is the new director of the NC State University Professional Golf Management program. Wade served as Assistant Director and Internship Coordinator for the past four years and takes over the helm from Dr. Michael Kanters who will now oversee the design of a new Distance Education Masters program for the department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. Dr. Wade received his Ph.D from Ohio University and has an extensive background in college athletic administration. He served as the Director of Ticket Operations at NC State as well as at Ohio University. He has experience with a variety of national tournaments and events including NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball, NIT Pre-Season and Post-Season Basketball, Gator Bowl, Tangerine Bowl, MicronPC.com Bowl, Jimmy V Women's Classic and Special Olympics World Games. Wade has instructed graduate classes in Sports Administration and Facility Management at the premier program in the country, Ohio University. While at Ohio University, he managed the university golf course, ice skating arena and stadium tower complex. He also has experience in sport facility management, sport marketing and event management. He has coached at the local minor hockey and collegiate levels and has worked as a volunteer at the Men's US Open and Women's US Open Golf Tournaments. The NC State PGM program will begin its sixth year at the beginning of the 2007-08 academic year. Eight students proudly received a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Golf Management during spring graduation, May 2007. These students have the distinction of being the first graduating class from the NC State PGM program. |
