 NC State PGM Graduate First Class 05-11-07 The NC State Professional Golf Management Program presented its’ first graduating class Saturday, May 12 in a formal ceremony at the Jane S. McKimmon Center on the NC State campus. Seven young men and one young woman proudly accepted diplomas from Dr. J. Douglas Wellman, department head, Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, proclaiming their Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Golf Management. Some PGM students also earned a minor in Business Management. A celebration dinner was held for the graduates Friday, May 11 at MacGregor Downs Country Club in Cary, NC. Students from Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC) who successfully completed the Level 3 checkpoint at NC State were also invited to attend the graduation dinner. Special guests included parents, grandparents and siblings of PGA/PGM graduates, PGA faculty members, representatives from area golf courses who partner with NC State PGM, and faculty and staff from the NC State Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management Department, Crop Science Department and PGM program. |
