The NC State Pulp and Paper Foundation was incorporated in 1954. The Southern paper industry desired a regional paper science curriculum to provide a source of graduates with the technical and engineering skills necessary to immediately have an impact on its paper mills.

To encourage the best and brightest to enroll in NC State’s paper science program, industry provided both scholarships and summer jobs to these students. A few years later, the endowed scholarship program was established.  Today there are over 135 endowed scholarships for this program providing financial support to more than 100 students enrolled in the Paper Science and Engineering program at NC State University.

Today, the Paper Science and Engineering program is one of the best in the country.  With over 50 years of history and over 1900 alumni, the Paper Science & Engineering Program continues to enjoy strong enrollment and its graduates continue to enjoy outstanding success in their careers.

In these challenging times we felt it was in the best interest of the students, faculty, alumni and industry to make this year's PPF meeting a modified version of our successful meetings in the past.  While we feel it is necessary to continue the tradition of annual meetings we have decided this year it is appropriate to deliver a compact meeting that will provide all of the necessary updates and information for those who can participate in person or via a live webcast.  We hope to return to a full scale PPF meeting in the future. For more information on this year's meeting please visit our Annual Meeting Page.
