PRTM’s sport management degree prepares students for positions within all sectors of the sports industry, including professional organizations, college athletics and recreational or commercial facilities. All aspects of sports management — from operations to facilities management, finance, marketing and more — are covered. Core courses include:

- Services, Facilities and Event Marketing
- Sport Management
- Managerial Accounting
- Introduction to Business Processes
Many sport management students also minor in Business Management, coaching education or future leader.
Teaching Focus
PRTM’s sport management staff includes experts in sports law, youth program development, facility management, sports tourism, marketing, program planning, recreational sport management and more. They focus on providing students with the skills, confidence and practical experience they need to design and manage all aspects of sport management, including programming, planning, finance, facilities, risk and liability management, law, sport tourism and understanding the economic impact of sports.

A sport management degree prepares students for a wide array of marketing and administration positions within the sports industry. Recent graduates have secured positions with community parks and recreation agencies; college recreational, intramural and booster programs; YMCA’s, YWCA’s and other non-profits; youth sports associations; amateur and professional athletic associations; intercollegiate athletic programs; professional teams; and a variety of sport-related legal, marketing and event management companies.
