The tour of Cary Parks and Recreation Facility includes the sites below
Godbold Park--home to Cary Dog Park & Sk8-Cary: The
Town of Cary’s first dog park provides a place for dog owners to let
their pets run safely and legally without a leash. The park is a
one-acre fenced area, with separate areas for small and large dogs,
accessed through Robert V. Godbold Park. Located within Godbold Park,
Sk8-Cary is a lighted 12,000 square foot street-style course designed
for skateboard, inline skates and BMX bikes.
Bond Park: At
310-acres Bond Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Wake
County. All facilities are integrated into natural settings, surrounded
by trees. The park offers a 42-acre lake for fishing and boating, picnic
shelters, athletic fields, trails, an amphitheatre, a large playground,
and a Challenge Ropes Course. Bond Park is also home to the Bond Park
Community Center and the Cary Senior Center, with adjoining Total Life
Center for adult day care.
WakeMed Soccer Park: WakeMed
Soccer Park is a 150 acre athletic complex with seven full-size and
one small-size multi-purpose field, as well as a cross country course
with various distance options, including 5K, 6K, 8K and 10K courses. The
complex is centered around a 10,000 seat stadium field, home to the
Carolina RailHawks, a semi-professional soccer team. The stadium
complex includes concession stands, rest room facilities, locker rooms,
meeting rooms, luxury suites, press rooms and training rooms.
Koka Booth Ampitheatre: Located
among 14 acres of stately hardwoods and pines and beautifully situated
next to Symphony Lake, the venue, along with the park, can only be
described as magnificent! With a capacity of 7,000, patrons can enjoy
the spacious lawn or a seat on the specially designed Crescent
during performances or events. The performance season runs April through
October and plays host to the nation’s best touring acts
