NC State’s Department of Wood & Paper Science (WPS) supports a renowned Wood Products Cooperative Extension program as well as industry and community outreach activities and numerous programs for students and educators:

• Wood Cooperative Extension is dedicated to increasing the competitiveness, profitability and sustainability of North Carolina's wood products industry; strengthening markets; improving the skills of the workforce; and increasing consumer understanding of wood products and their proper use.
• Our Industry & Community Outreach initiatives include continuing education and distance courses for professionals as well as participation in a variety of industry organizations.
• Paper Science Outreach & K-12 activities include courses and workshops for students and teachers as well as a huge on-line library of downloadable presentations that can enrich classroom learning for students of all ages.
