Joe Denig

Dr. Joe Denig is a Professor and Departmental Extension Leader. He focuses primarily on ensuring the financial profitability of the primary wood products manufacturing industry. His time is focused on industry assistance, providing both technical assistance and leadership to the lumber manufactur­ing industry. His projects range from financial evaluations of mill upgrades, evaluating sawmill scanning and optimization systems, to lumber drying technical assistance. He also serves as the facilitator of three sawmill owners’ round tables. He is a member of the Forest Products Society and serves as Treasurer of the Southeastern Dry Kiln Club. Dr. Denig holds a Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
