Joel J. Pawlak

Dr. Joel J. Pawlak, Assistant Professor, is a graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University. Dr. Pawlak received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1996 and his Ph.D. in 2001 from this institute. 

Dr. Pawlak’s research focuses on the material science and material engineering of multiphase materials. Current research interests include porous fibrous web structures, foams made from natural materials, natural super-absorbents, enzymatic manipulation of material structure, natural nano-scale fiber composites, and novel application of rheological phenomenon.

Dr. Pawlak graduated as the Salutatorian from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and was named a Syracuse University Scholar.
