The Department of Wood & Paper Science at NC State (WPS) conducts on-going forest biomaterials research on the technical and economic evaluation of pretreatment technologies, process modeling and alternative processing strategies. It also sponsors research projects that investigate the fundamental and applied aspects of new cellulose and lignin based biomaterials, among other topics.
