Cooperative Extension Service: Prescribed Fire Workshop

Free

A free, in-person workshop based in and around Raleigh, NC for extension professionals across the country interested in learning more about wildland fire.  The workshop will include:

  • Presentations and hands-on activities related to extension wildland fire programs
  • Discussions of strategies for fire science communication and education
  • Meeting with a local prescribed burn association
  • Participation in a prescribed burn (weather permitting)

Registration Deadline 
Please register by no later than May 26, 2023. Seats are limited.

This workshop complements the asynchronous online course, “Cooperative Extension Service: Prescribed Fire” (https://go.ncsu.edu/cesrxfire). Participants are recommended (but not required) to complete the special synchronous session of this course in May, prior to the workshop. PPE Requirements
Please bring appropriate footwear (fire boots or hiking boots, leather is preferred – no steel-toe), pants (nomex, cotton, or wool – no synthetics), and a long-sleeve shirt (nomex, cotton, or wool – no synthetics).
