Event Navigation

Join us for a walk through the Jordan Lake State Park to see what forest products are potentially in a landowner’s forest! Throughout the day, attendees will participate in discussions with industry professional foresters and loggers and other landowner, as well as look at forest stands and identification of potential forest products that the stands would produce. This event also features a morning and afternoon demonstration of a portable sawmill and firewood processor and a discussion of measuring a log for volume, lumber quality and insights into matching forest stand management to potential markets. Participants can register online or with Kelley McCarter by phone at 919-515-9563. Registration the day of the event is from 8-9 a.m. There is no cost to attend, but during registration, attendees may purchase lunch, which will be available at Jordan Lake NCFS.
