Adam Elhammoumi – Class of ’15

Adam Elhammoumi graduated from NC State in 2015 with degrees in Paper Science & Engineering and Chemical Engineering, and a Transatlantic Paper Science Program (TAPS) dual degree. We reached out to Adam to find about his current career, and advice for current students.  Thanks for sharing Adam!

Experiences at NC State

  • Internship/co-op experience: Summer 2011 – Research with Dr. Pawlak, Summer 2012 – Internship with EDT, 2012-2013 Study Abroad in Finland and      Germany, Summer 2014 – Internship with International Paper – Franklin, VA
  • Favorite Class: Dr. Jameel’s pulping labs (PSE 371) and running the Wolfpack baby paper machine with Dr. Heitmann (PSE 472)
  • Best memory at State: Finishing PSE senior design with my amazing team
  • Worst memory at State: Trying to finish the senior design report and printing it
  • Clubs/Hobbies: NCSU Cycling Team
  • Favorite part of PSE Program: I greatly enjoyed the family atmosphere of the department and how close knit the classes became. I have made many life long friends through the PSE program.
  • Most important thing PSE taught me: How to work with people.

Current Career Information

  • Company/job position: International Paper Franklin Mill, Front Line Leader Fibers and Power & Recovery
  • Years at current job: February 2017
  • Biggest accomplishment in your career: Earning my team’s trust and respect as Front Line Leader

Advise for Current Students

  • Get out of your comfort zone and try something new like working away from home or studying in another country. Don’t rush through college, enjoy it, and take advantage of everything NCSU has to offer while you can.

  • Family: Mom is a nursing professor at ECU and my Dad teaches psychology in Dubai
  • Hobbies/interests: Buying a house
