Academic enrichment is one of the most important components of the educational experience offered by the Department of Forest Biomaterials at NC State. FB intentionally keeps its enrollment small enough to be able to offer students a high level of personal guidance. We also offer a number of on-the-job and study options to help our scholars pinpoint their industry interests and fully develop their potential. Academic enrichment resources include:
- Cooperative Education which allows our students to work on the job in real life situations, giving them an opportunity to explore their career options, cultivate their confidence and earn money for college expenses.
- Study/Work Abroad Programs, that allow FB students to study or work abroad for academic credit. Scholarships are available to fund these programs.
- Free general tutorial services from the NC State Undergraduate Tutorial Center. These services assist students in many 100- and 200-level courses. General writing and speaking tutorial services plus small group supplemental instruction for students in chemistry and physics courses are also offered.
- Free CNR tutorial services are available for any major within the College of Natural Resources. Please contact Joann Urbanski in the Academic Affairs Office, Biltmore 1022, or call 919.515-6191 for more information.
