Alexia Lipscomb is a recent graduate from the class of 2015. She currently works as a Process Engineer for International Paper at Riegelwood, NC. We recently reached out to Alexia to find out about her experience here at NC State, her current career, and advise for current students.
Experience at NC State
- Internship/co-op experiences: First Quality, Anderson, SC, Sonoco, Holyoke, MA and International Paper, Riegelwood, NC – Alexi feels extremely blessed to have worked in such a variety of mills and locations.
Current Career Information
- Company/job position: Process Engineer, International Paper, Riegelwood, NC – As an intern the mill produced coated paperboard, but when Alexia returned a few months later they has started a major capital project. While she interned at IP, the mill produced coated paperboard, but when she returned, just a few months later, they were in the process of converting everything to 100% fluff pulp. She feels extremely lucky that once this project is complete, I will have seen the mill before, during and after these transition phases. I got to see things that I will literally never see again.
Advice for current students
- Work hard but also have fun, and one bad test grade won’t destroy your career. Enjoy these short years you have in college; they are some of the best year or your life! Go Pack!
- Enjoys dance, travel and going out with friends.
