The Department of Forest Biomaterials is an internationally-recognized leader<\/strong> in graduate education. Our graduate programs emphasize hands-on research, teaching and real-world opportunities. Our graduate students advocate for sustainable practices in their fields and have the knowledge, skills and willingness required to succeed as responsible engineers, scientists, teachers and practitioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since our founding, we\u2019ve been known for research and educational excellence in biomass utilization and the development of sustainable biomaterials. As an incubator for novel and innovative solutions to industry challenges<\/strong>, we translate and apply research that drives discovery and generates value, advances knowledge through science, serves NC State’s land-grant mission, and trains future leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our graduate students receive a great deal of faculty, financial and technological support<\/b>. In return, they play an integral role in the success of our college by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Their efforts help make us an international center for advanced study<\/b> in engineering and forest biomaterials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
