During the most recent trips to China and Finland, students were able to see, up close, international pulp and paper manufacturing operations, research centers, supplier facilities (fabrics, automation, and pilot machines) and more. They also interacted with students at universities with paper and biomaterials-related degree programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cnr.ncsu.edu\/fb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/11\/PIE-2023-Finland-1024x646.png\" alt=\"PIE trip attendees\" class=\"wp-image-24865\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants become more aware of the global community and experience things they never have before. They understand the US pulp and paper industry better, in the context of the global market.
