We are pleased to announced our new student leadership for the PPAB Student Advisory Committee for the 2026-27 academic year. This committee helps students connect with and communicate to the Board. As president, Sara Gregory ’27 PSE\/CHE; vice president, Ethan Wolff ’28 PSE\/CHE and secretary, Charlie Pine ’29 PSE\/CHE. Here’s a bit more about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sara Gregory is a junior from Chapin, South Carolina, pursuing a dual major in Paper Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering. She has completed two internships, one with Sonoco in Newport, Tennessee, and another with Georgia-Pacific in Brunswick, Georgia, and will be returning to Brunswick this upcoming summer. Sara is actively involved in the Paper Science and Engineering community, serving as President of the PPAB Student Advisory Committee, Secretary of TAPPI, and a student recruitment intern for the PSE program. Outside of PSE, she is a mentor with College Mentors for Kids. One of my goals as president is to create more opportunities for students and board members to connect directly, whether through mixers, mentorships, or small group events. I want to help bridge the gap so students see and feel the support the Board provides.

My name is Ethan Wolff, and I am a student in the Paper Science and Engineering program. I originally became interested in this field after starting in chemical engineering and discovering the paper science program, where I found I really enjoyed the combination of engineering, process operations, and hands-on industry experience. Since joining the program, I have had the opportunity to learn more about the pulp and paper industry through coursework, mill experience, and working with industry professionals, which has strengthened my interest in pursuing a career in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ran for the Student Advisory Committee to be more involved in the program and to help represent students. I think SAC is important because it helps connect students, faculty, and industry, and I wanted to be part of improving the program for current students and those who come after us. I also wanted to take on more responsibility and be more involved outside of classes. From being on SAC, I hope to gain leadership experience, build stronger relationships with other students, faculty, and industry members, and get a better understanding of how the program operates and continues to grow. I\u2019m looking forward to being involved and helping contribute to the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ran for a position on the SAC to give back to a program I deeply value. My college education is possible because of the support from the PPAB and the endowed scholarships I receive. I don’t have a lot of money yet, so the best way I can give back is my time and talents. I know that through this position I will learn more about the operations behind the scenes of what makes this program work so well. I want to use this position to ensure the needs of PSE students are represented and I’m excited to work with the SAC and PPAB!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
