2025 FER Graduate Student Award Winners

The FER Graduate Committee is pleased to announce the recipients of our departmental awards for the 2024–2025 academic year. We had an exceptional pool of applicants this year, and the selection process was highly competitive. Congratulations to all of the awardees for their outstanding achievements:

  • Ana Cubas-Baez and Kyle Zampogna received the Cubbage Family Graduate Student Leadership Award, which recognizes exemplary leadership and service within the department or the local community.
  • Lauren Gonzalez and Jake Bourke were awarded the Forestry & Environmental Resources Faculty Fellowship for Excellence in Graduate Education, honoring their academic excellence and contributions to the graduate program.
  • Alejandra Betancourt was selected for the prestigious Namkoong Family Graduate Fellowship, awarded for scholarship and ethics in forestry and conservation.
  • Adarsha Devihalli received the Dr. James R. and Judy Allen Pick Award, which supports research in wildlife conservation and/or forestry.

We extend our sincere congratulations to all recipients and thank everyone who submitted nominations. The Graduate Committee encourages faculty and students to watch for our 2025–2026 call for nominations next spring.
