We employ cutting-edge research and work with a variety of partners to ensure common fish and wildlife species remain common, and threatened and endangered fish and wildlife species are saved. Students and faculty work across colleges and disciplines throughout NC State University to gain knowledge and conduct innovative research that identifies and solves challenges to conserving animal species around the world.

The Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology undergraduate degree focuses on fish and wildlife ecology and sustainable management of wild animal populations and their associated habitats. Our master’s and Ph.D. programs are intercollegiate and co-administered by the College of Natural Resources, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and College of Veterinary Medicine.

Graduate students address basic and applied science questions about fish and wildlife ecology, including population biology and modeling, health and disease, and habitat use and management, on scales ranging from individuals to ecosystems and from local to international.
