Erin is a Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program Cluster Assistant Professor in Geospatial Analytics in the Department of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. She uses remote sensing and geospatial technologies and techniques to understand the patterns and processes of earth system dynamics and related ecosystem services. Her research centers on addressing how climate and environmental change, such as changing hydro-climate land use, water projects, species introductions and nutrient loading, influence responses in the biosphere and hydrosphere. Erin’s expertise is in making biophysical measurements from remote sensing technologies such as imaging spectroscopy, LiDAR, and other optical instruments from multiple spatial and temporal resolution platforms, including in situ, aircraft and satellites.
