Oriol Marquet Sarda

Oriol Marquet is a postdoctoral researcher investigating the links between built environment and public health, with a focus on walkability and physical activity. Oriol received his Ph.D in Geography from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) where he designed a methodological framework to study proximity environments and short-scale mobility using travel surveys. During his Ph.D, he conducted international research stays in the Ponificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (IEUT, Chile), Aalborg University (UA, Denmark) and University of Amsterdam (UvA, Netherlands). His dissertation focused on the social and spatial determinants for the use of non-motorized modes of transport for everyday mobility. His actual research interests rely on the development of healthy environments for populations with specific mobility needs, namely children and seniors.
