Geospatial Forum with Dr. Michael Starek

November 1, 2018 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Located in South Texas along the Gulf of Mexico coastline, the Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science at Texas A&M University (TAMU-CC) is actively integrating unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to address regional problems. This forum presentation will provide an overview of such activities, including coastal and maritime reconnaissance, crop and rangeland scouting, and research into UAS photogrammetry and lidar. Furthermore, TAMU-CC is home to the Lone Star UAS Center, one of seven federally-designated UAS test sites. Examples of test site research related to integration of UAS into the national airspace, including unmanned air traffic management, will be presented.
