The newly formed NC State chapter of the International Association of Society and Natural Resources (IASNR) was awarded a competitive science communication grant to host a film screening and panel discussion on the effects of salinization to the natural and social systems of the Albemarle-Pamlico Peninsula.

The award-winning documentary film “Shored Up: When Human Nature and the Force of Nature Collide” will be featured as part of this science communication grant.  More details to come on date and location.

The proposal effort was co-led by the chapter’s Treasurer, Rose Keane, and President, Allie McCreary, both PhD students affiliated with PRTM and the Center for Geospatial Analytics. Both the Department and the Center are excited to support the chapter’s efforts!
