The Landscape Dynamics research group at the <a href=\"https:\/\/cnr.ncsu.edu\/geospatial\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www. geospatial.ncsu.edu\">Center for Geospatial Analytics<\/a> is seeking a creative and driven NC State University undergraduate student to contribute to our groundbreaking work on urban growth modeling. This is your chance to combine your skills in visualization, graphic design\/communication and storytelling with your scientific curiosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Responsibilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Collaborate with our team in reviewing scientific models and literature<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct research on methods and best practices in scientific illustration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in ideation sessions, both virtual and in person<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop an portfolio of scientific diagrams and illustrations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This position offers flexible hours, requiring an average availability of 8\u201310 hours per week. We ask that interested students commit for a minimum of one semester. You will start working on the first day of fall classes and continue until the end of the semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creative flair and a demonstrated talent in graphic design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts through visuals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Basic knowledge of video production, including video abstracts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is highly preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, please email your CV\/resume to Dr. Georgina Sanchez (<a href=\"mailto:gmsanche@ncsu.edu\">gmsanche@ncsu.edu<\/a>) by <strong>July 31, 2023<\/strong>.
