The award covers Anna\u2019s registration, travel, and accommodations, and in return, she will co-present at a special demo session, highlighting the latest technologies she and her colleagues have been developing in the center\u2019s Geovisualization Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The team\u2019s demo paper, <strong>Immersive Tangible Geospatial Modeling<\/strong>, will showcase an innovative blending of virtual reality and <a href=\"https:\/\/geospatial.ncsu.edu\/osgeorel\/tangible-landscape.html\">Tangible Landscape<\/a>, the collaborative modeling environment developed at the center that pairs an interactive interface driven by touch with open-source GIS software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presenting team includes Payam Tabrizian, Anna, Brendan Harmon, Vaclav Petras, Helena Mitasova and Ross Meetenmeyer \u2013\u2013 all active members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/geospatial.ncsu.edu\/osgeorel\/\">NCSU GeoForAll Lab<\/a> at the Center for Geospatial Analytics. Anna and Vaclav are also members of the GRASS GIS <a href=\"https:\/\/trac.osgeo.org\/grass\/wiki\/PSC\">project steering committee<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their presentation will combine bird\u2019s-eye and first-person views of virtual terrain, using Oculus headsets to provide an immersive experience of landscapes easily altered and updated in real-time through Tangible Landscape.
