Town of Morehead City Planning & Inspections Department

This position, under general direction of the Planning & Inspections Director, will provide complex technical work compiling and administering the Town Code regarding land development, subdivision regulation and site plan reviews; maintaining maps and databases; working with the public; and assisting to serve as administrative support for the Planning Board.    

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree with coursework in planning or related field.
• General knowledge of the principles of planning, land development, zoning, land use, subdivision regulation, etc.
• Experience in planning and GIS preferred.
• MUST BE highly attentive to details, able to perform basic math skills, possess effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills, to include strong writing skills, and have the ability to deal firmly and tactfully with the public.
• Possession of a valid, unrestricted NC Driver’s License required.
• Background testing/drug testing required.
$42,909 to $49,345 plus excellent benefits package
