Position Summary
We are seeking a highly passionate and energetic Senior Engagement Manager with solid interpersonal and community development skills to join our team. This position will manage state and municipal projects to ensure they align with strategic business objectives and lead community outreach and engagement initiatives. In addition, the Senior Engagement Manager will identify and procure necessary resources, estimate project budgets, and set project scopes and schedules into a project plan.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist executive staff with project planning and oversight
- Attend agency coordination and project planning meetings and serve as the liaison between the company and client
- Conduct project task planning, scheduling and management including budget adherence
- Assist executive staff with the development of project scopes of work
- Oversee the implementation of communications and engagement activities, including materials development and distribution, outreach, staffing and equipment needs
- Coordinate project tasks implementation with agencies and client project managers
- Ensure all deliverables meet company and client quality standards
- Draft public involvement and agency coordination plans
- Schedule and conducts site visits, stakeholder interviews and focus groups
- Oversee the evaluation of all public engagement and communications processes and procedures
- Conduct community meetings and outreach activities
- Provides guidance to project managers and junior staff
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in urban or transportation planning, public administration, environmental engineering, communications, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in project management, with a specialization in public engagement, transportation planning, or public information for public agencies or private firms
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, database management, and online survey tools
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of project planning and management, public engagement, public information, land use, NEPA and/or transportation planning
- In depth knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection, survey design, effective writing, and presentation techniques
- Knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act environmental review process, Environmental Justice, and Title VI legislation and practices preferred
- Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a diverse and multidisciplinary team while valuing differences of race, ethnicity, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ability, and socio-economic circumstances
- Strong oral and interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with agency staff, project team members, elected/appointed officials, community leaders, and P3 staff
- Ability to provide effective supervision and staff management
Ability to attend to details while keeping big-picture goals in mind
Ability to travel across and out of state for community outreach activities and training
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
