Plant Ordering & Receiving
*Order plants via Purchase orders as requested from proper vendors
*Follow through with incoming plants availability (ship dates, quantities and sizes, pricing) and confirmations
*Coordinate with business manager when plants are received/approved and are ready for payment
*Assure cost data is properly entered in database in a timely manner
*Monitor receiving of plants and seed
*Ensure plant claims as needed (for damaged, diseased, or viral plants and incorrect quantities or plants) Supply photographs and coordinate with Business Manager to receive credit or replacements
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate nursery inventory of saleable and future saleable crops
Closely monitor plant sales reports to ensure adequate quantities for sales
Coordinate plant name changes with staff taxonomist to ensure timely changes in nursery
Ensure that nursery production signage is up to date and accurate
Production Scheduling
*Schedule crop production times working with grower and production supervisor based on sales and sales projections
*Ensure that plants are produced in the most economical method
*Monitor crop costs of production to avoid cost increases
