Join the Advanced Energy Solar Team!  We are committed to continuously improving the quality, reliability and safety of solar development projects.  We are seeking a team player to help us with performing field inspections for interconnection of utility scale solar PV, primarily in NC.


Advanced Energy is a nonprofit energy consulting firm. We work with electric utilities, government and a wide variety of public and private organizations in the residential, commercial and industrial, solar, motors and drives and electric vehicle markets. Our customized services include research, testing, training, consulting and program design.


This team member will perform evaluations of commercial and utility scale solar PV facilities to assess the quality of design, construction, and operation.   Perform engineering analysis and present concise results to customers. Prepare reports and documentation delineating tasks, analysis, test results, and recommendations for further action. Provide hands on assistance in deploying new methodologies and technologies in the field.   Acquire data from field/lab instruments and process into useful information. Design and develop products and services that take advantage of new knowledge generated by applied research and engineering studies. Clarify and evaluate technical aspects of service requests from customers. Develop and implement policies, standards, written documentation and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the solar department.


Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Sustainable Technology, Physics, Engineering Technology, or related field.


Five plus years' experience in solar PV, renewable energy, distributed energy generation or related field.


Ability to travel 25% of work schedule.


Ability to work with a team, independently and communicate effectively.


Excellent written communication skills!
