William B. Umstead State Park is looking for a reliable individual to help with many tasks around the park. The position of Seasonal Park Attendant is a great way to get your foot in the door and gain experience in the field of parks and recreation with one of the most highly visited park in the state.
24-40 Hours per week
Term position. Not to exceed 6 months
This position will work both in the Visitor Center and with our Maintenance Staff.
Typical Visitor Center duties include assisting park visitors with questions and directions, opening and closing the building in a safe and secure manner, cleaning and disinfecting high traffic surfaces and areas, politely answering phones,etc.
Typical park maintenance duties such as cleaning park facilities, landscaping, light construction, keeping the park free of litter, removing invasive species, and trail work. This work will take place outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
