Job Description
Reports to: COO
The Production Manager makes sure that manufacturing processes run safely and efficiently, are cost-effective and deliver quality products on time.
Responsibilities
• Safety: sets safety standards and observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions
• Quality: determines quality control standards; establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards
• Delivery: delivers orders on time
• Costs: implements cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries; controls and minimizes labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses; reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
• Equipment & Facilities: manages capital asset maintenance by maintaining existing plant facilities and equipment; replaces, or makes adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary; implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs

• Safety: incidences, near misses
• Quality: returns, quality issues identified prior to shipment
• Delivery: on time deliveries
• Costs: production costs vs. estimates, production variances, overhead costs vs. budget
• Equipment & Facilities: unplanned downtime, repairs
• Other KPIs / Metrics, as needed

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; 3-5 years production management experience; Six Sigma Green Belt, preferred; ability to speak Spanish, preferred
• Math, Reasoning & Computer Skills: ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
