As an integral member of this team, you’ll experience personal and professional growth as you collaborate in developing Digital Platform solutions and enhancements that contribute to feeding the world in a sustainable manner. As an Environmental Data Analyst Intern you will acquire, clean, and manipulate data from weather, soil, proximal, and remote sensing using GIS and programming tools (such as R or Python). Preference for Chicago, IL; Raleigh/Durham; option for the candidate to work remotely.
Duration: May 2022-August 2022
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Acquire, quality control, manipulate, structure, and analyze various large, agriculturally relevant datasets in support of current Syngenta’s products.
- Generate replicable scripts of the performed analysis.
- Function as an integral member of a team responsible for data collection, data entry, and providing insightful feedback related to Syngenta’s suite of digital tools.
- Effectively communicating regularly with peers and supervisors regarding the status of projects and work activities.
- Perform all tasks and behave in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety and stewardship related company policies and practices, including completing all required company training courses.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Environmental Science, Land and Environmental Engineering, Ag Engineering or another closely related agricultural and environmental field of study.
- Demonstrated ability in R or Python.
- Preference may be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in
- Remote Sensing and GIS.
- All applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
