The employee serves as a Biologist in the provision of direct technical assistance to field office staff and producers. The biologist provides technical assistance to field offices with basic biology/environmental needs including wildlife habitat management, wetland restoration/enhancement and conservation planning, in support of the Farm Bill.


Responsibilities
Coordinates and implements Wetland Reserve Easement restoration, management, and monitoring activities.
Assists producers and field offices on Wetland Conservation Compliance activities associated with the Swampbuster provisions of the Food Security Act, as amended.
Gathers data and works in the field with producers, producer-contracted consultants, and other NRCS personnel, to conduct investigations for wildlife, wetlands restoration, and conservation compliance activities.
Provides technical assistance to field staff and producers on planning and implementing wetland and wildlife habitat projects funded through Farm Bill programs.
Provides training to NRCS employees and partners on policies, rules, and regulations related to wetlands restoration, enhancement, and conservation compliance.
Travel Required
