Description

Berry College is seeking a new colleague (tenure-track Assistant Professor) in Biology to play an integral role in the development of the new Wildlife/Ecology/Conservation concentration within the Biology major. The surrounding area provides extended opportunities, including the confluence of three rivers that serve as habitat for many rare and endemic species. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can utilize Berry College's expansive and biologically-rich campus to study ecophysiology and/or wildlife diseases of aquatic or terrestrial animals.  The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in vertebrate physiology with expertise in non-human vertebrates.  


Duties will include teaching introductory courses to life science majors, an upper division course in comparative animal physiology, and other upper division courses within the candidate's area of expertise. The successful candidate will conduct research involving vertebrate animals and fully comply with all IACUC protocols. Faculty at Berry are expected to involve undergraduates in their research, serve as academic advisors, and contribute to the vitality of the campus and professional communities through their service. 


 



REQUIREMENTS:



Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field. Post-doctoral experience preferred.
