Description

The N.C. Forest Service (NCFS) is pleased to once again offer two paid internships during the 2020 summer.
These include A) one position working with the NCFS’s Forest Management & Development Division and B)
one position working with the NCFS’s Forest Protection Division in the Forest Health Branch. The interns will
work with multiple staff from each Division; participate in a wide variety of the NCFS’s programs and services;
and contribute to ongoing projects. Some travel outside the Raleigh area will occur so the interns can participate
in forestry outreach meetings, fieldwork, partner discussions, etc.
Duty locations: Forest Management & Development Intern = Archdale Building in downtown Raleigh;


Forest Health Intern = Griffiths Forestry Center near Clayton, NC


Anticipated start date: Mid-May, 2020
Anticipated end date: Early August, 2020
Preferences: Students in a Society of American Foresters (SAF) accredited Forestry curriculum in their junior
or senior years. Students in related curriculums (ex. Natural Resources; Environmental Technology &
Management; Fisheries, Wildlife & Conservation Biology) may also be considered. 2020 internships are not
open to previous NCFS summer interns.
