Description

The Stormwater Division is looking for an individual with a strong interest in the environmental field and water quality issues. The Water Quality Intern will assist Water Quality staff in various activities that may include stream monitoring in wet and dry weather conditions, macroinvertebrate sampling, inspecting stormwater control measures (SCMs), physical monitoring, inspecting industrial facilities, and responding to citizen concerns. This position involves both office work and field work. It may entail performing fieldwork during inclement weather conditions and carrying equipment over sloped or uneven terrain. Additionally, the intern may be assigned independent projects depending on skills and/or interests. This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:


High School Diploma
Current enrollment in a community college or university or recently obtained a degree
Valid driver's license      


An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):


GIS experience
MS Office skills      

Qualifications
Those interested in the environmental field/water quality; open to undergraduates, graduate students, and recent college graduates
