POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Membership Experience Director, the Wellness Attendant is responsible for the safety, supervision and friendly atmosphere of the wellness floor. Being highly relational and servant-minded are essential for the success of a Wellness Attendant. He/she will be responsible for managing those functions in accordance with the stated mission and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees and Board of Directors of the YMCA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Contribute to the fulfillment of the YMCA Mission through actively engaging and building effective YMCA relationships with members and staff by:
Intentionally engaging members on the entire wellness floor repeatedly during each shift.
Maintaining a servant minded attitude/perspective of delivering extraordinary service to members.
Regularly cleaning fitness equipment and restocking workout towels as needed
Upkeep of wellness floor areas
Creating a positive experience while giving tours to prospective members
Administering Get Active Orientations
Supporting members with wellness knowledge and exercise support while on the floor
Having general knowledge of current and upcoming programs in all YMCA departments to actively engage members
2. Must be able to connect with members and to connect members with each other is critical.
3. Must work with an attitude that the members are top priority and perform all job tasks with a servant minded mentality. For this reason, a strong and positive work ethic is essential.
4. Must have or obtain American Safety and Health Institute BLS, Administering Emergency Oxygen, and First Aid certifications.
5. No fitness certification is required for this position, but it is helpful. A minimum of having an interest and general knowledge in wellness is needed.
6. This position requires an understanding of and a commitment to the total effort of the YMCA of the Triangle and the Christian principles upon which it is founded.
