About the Nufarm Crop Protection Segment


Nufarm is a leading supplier of crop protection products used by American farmers to protect their crops against damage caused by weeds, pests and disease. Nufarm offers a diversified product portfolio that includes herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and plant growth regulators that can be used in a variety of markets nationwide. Our products are available through most agricultural retailers.


 


Role Summary


As a part time Marketing Communications Intern, this position will take a proactive role on the Nufarm Crop Protection Communications team and assist with processes and projects related to communications deliverables for the remainder of this year. Working 20 hours a week, you'll learn how we utilize social media, content development, public relations, and industry events to be effective.


 This role provides the position holder with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment with valuable on-the-job experience through contact with professionals in their field of study. With a focus on writing, the intern will be responsible for sourcing business stories to tell, interviewing subjects, conducting relevant research, and writing compelling articles, white papers, press releases, and social media content for both internal (employees) and external (media, customers) consumption. The intern will gain exposure to many aspects of the communications process, while learning about the crop protection industry and brand management.


Essential Responsibilities


Promote the great work being done across our company in a story telling format through written articles or videos.
Support the North American sales team by assisting with marcomm deliverables (Product Information Bulletin, Product Guides, etc.) 
Help collect and generate content for the quarterly internal newsletter and Digital Signage Boards.
Assist with image and video database organization.
Attend meetings and other learning opportunities throughout length of internship.
Other tasks assigned based on the chosen candidate’s desires for professional development.

Expected Commitment:


• This is a part-time position with a target minimum of 20 hours per week. The specific work days and hours will be flexible, but agreed upon with the hiring manager



Qualifications
Skill Set Requirements and Minimum Education Requirements
• Applicants must be enrolled as a Junior or Senior and be pursuing a degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications/Journalism, or similar at an accredited school.
• Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
• Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Primarily PowerPoint)
• Proficiency working with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, or video editing software is advantage.
• Applicant has basic understanding of social media content and is able to recognize and react to social media trends or content within events that have social media potential
