The funds will support student scholarships, faculty research, diversity and inclusion efforts, facilities and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEvery gift given on Day of Giving \u2014 whether it\u2019s $5 or $5,000 \u2014 is a testimony to our community\u2019s strength and its commitment to providing students, staff and faculty with the support they need to succeed at NC State,\u201d said Dean Myron Floyd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Floyd added, \u201cWe\u2019re incredibly grateful to all of our donors for their generosity on this Day of Giving. These gifts will help to ensure that our college is able to continue providing exceptional academic, research and outreach programs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond gifts, the college won $4,000 in additional funds thanks to community members participating in social media challenges throughout the day. The college won both the \u201cVideo Share Challenge\u201d and \u201cMost Gifts at 5 a.m. Challenge.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The college also won its first gift challenge for securing 100 gifts in support of Slocum Camp at Hill Forest, which earned the college an additional $3,000 in bonus funds from forestry alum Kenneth \u201cK.O.\u201d Summerville. Additionally, the Forestry Club won the first Student Organization Challenge with 202 gifts, securing an additional $2,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donor support from this year\u2019s event will especially benefit Slocum Camp Lodge, with the college allocating more than $25,000 for improvements at the facility. The lodge, which has been closed since 2012, is intended to house students each summer as they live, learn and work in the forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The college will also direct approximately $18,000 of this year\u2019s donations to the CNR Enhancement Fund, which provides student scholarships and supports requests for research, technology, distance learning, professional development and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its inception in 2019, NC State\u2019s Day of Giving has raised more than $2 million for the college.
