She will address the college\u2019s undergraduate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Stamm transferred to North Carolina State University in 2023 after a year at Appalachian State University, changing her degree path from business administration and management to sport management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stamm\u2019s lifelong passion for sports led her to work as a recruiting intern for NC State Football, supporting recruiting operations, coordinating visits and assisting with event execution. She also served as a club lacrosse operations assistant, gaining experience in team logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside of NC State Athletics, Stamm was an active member of the Women in Sport Club, a student-run organization that promotes mentorship, professional development and opportunities for women in athletics. She also worked as a student marketeer with Red Bull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stamm\u2019s involvement extended beyond athletics into campus leadership and service through Kappa Delta Sorority, where she held leadership roles as parliamentarian and director of member retention and contributed more than 100 volunteer hours annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduation, Stamm plans to continue working in her current role with NC State Football&#8217;s recruiting department, further developing her experience in collegiate athletics while pursuing future opportunities in football operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the following Q&amp;A, Stamm reflects on her academic journey in sport management, her hands-on experience in football recruiting and athletic operations and the mentorship, leadership roles and campus opportunities that shaped her time at NC State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What inspired your interest in sport management, and how has it evolved?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>I was initially drawn to sport management because of my passion for athletics and the energy surrounding sports environments. Growing up, I participated in different sports. However, it was not until I attended my first game after transferring that I knew I wanted a career in sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During my time in the sport management program, my interest only grew. Working in football recruiting allowed me to see firsthand how much effort and planning goes into building a strong program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What made NC State a good fit for you?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NC State offers access to high-level athletics programs and a network of professionals, which made it the ideal environment to grow. The ability to get involved early and gain meaningful experience within collegiate athletics confirmed that this program was the right fit for me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What experiences had the biggest impact on you?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>My experience as a football recruiting intern has had the biggest impact on me. Being involved in recruiting operations, assisting with visits and working closely with staff gave me a deeper understanding of the daily demands and expectations within collegiate athletics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It challenged me to be detail-oriented, adaptable and professional in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, my leadership roles in my sorority helped me grow personally and professionally. These classes allowed me to connect what I was learning in the classroom to my hands-on experiences in athletics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being able to apply real-world scenarios to coursework helped reinforce my understanding and gave me confidence in my ability to succeed in the industry. It also helped me better understand the strategic and business side of sports beyond what is visible on the surface.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Were there mentors or peers who shaped your journey?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout my time in the program, I have been fortunate to learn from mentors and supervisors within athletics who have guided me and pushed me to grow. However, Shelby Howell, recruiting operations assistant for NC State Football and my internship supervisor, gave me a chance to work for her and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, my peer Reagan Roberts (Business Administration &#8217;25) has been nothing but supportive in my endeavors to pursue a career in the sports industry. Without her help, I am unsure of where I would be right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What accomplishment are you most proud of?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I am most proud of the experience I have gained working in football recruiting and the opportunity to continue in that role after graduation. Being trusted with responsibilities in such a competitive and fast-paced environment is something I do not take lightly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am also proud of balancing multiple commitments, including leadership roles, internships and academics, while continuing to grow and develop my skills. While it may require hard work, resilience and confidence to stand out, it should not be seen as a barrier.
