Raleigh Environmental AwardsOn Earth Day, April 22, 2013, two NC State Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management students, Robert Smith and Wei Wang, will step up on the stage at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences to accept Environmental Awards in the City of Raleigh’s Emerging Professional PSA competition.

This year’s public service announcements focus on raising awareness of the most important way to reduce your water bill — by repairing a leaky toilet.  Smith and Wang produced both a 60 second PSA  and a 30 second PSA which were selected as first place winners.  A cash prize of $750 will be awarded for each.  The winning PSAs will be showcased as a highlight of the city’s celebration.

The City of Raleigh established the annual Environmental Awards to recognize outstanding stewardship in 12 categories. The program recognizes individuals and organizations in our community that have demonstrated a commitment to the environment.
