This semester the Departmental Outreach and Leadership Committee within the University Graduate Student Association (UGSA) announced the first ever Graduate Student Association Best Practices Award. This award is to be handed out every fall and spring semester moving forward. “The Best Practices award recognizes the GSA which most clearly embodies UGSA’s mission of improving the satisfaction and scholarship of graduate students at North Carolina State University. Since each department is unique, the award is also intended as a tool to spread ideas and to encourage involvement in GSAs of all sizes.” (Quoted from award application).
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management Graduate Student Association was selected as the first GSA to receive this prestigious award!! Congratulations to all of the PRT graduate students who worked so diligently to make this award possible and Dr. Carla Barbieri for her role as faculty advisor. The students will receive their award at the UGSA meeting February 23 at 7:00 pm in the Talley Center.
