Claudia AlbericoAbout Me

I am a doctoral student working with Dr. J. Aaron Hipp. I’ve moved from Southern Brazil (Curitiba-PR) to Raleigh to work with my advisor in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. With a degree in Physical Education focused on fitness and a masters in Physical Activity and Health, my research is looking at interactions between the built environment and human behavior such as physical activity and sedentary time.

Who has been most influential to you?

My parents, who taught me to persist.

Professional Goal

I would like to work as a professor and a researcher and make a difference in the life of new students the same way my advisors and professors have done in mine. Also, make spaces more physical activity-friendly to see the world engage in behavior change for better health.

Previous Degrees and Where I Received these Degrees

B.A. in Physical Education, Federal University of Parana, Curitiba-PR, Brazil
M.Sc. in Physical Activity and Health, Federal University of Parana, Curitiba-PR, Brazil

“Words of Wisdom” for Prospective Students

It is okay not knowing which road to take as long as you have a goal.

My Leisure Interests

Sleeping, binge-watching, Taekwondo and traveling; not necessarily in that order.
